Dipak Ramji (Biography)
Dipak Ramji received his BSc (Hons) degree (Biochemistry) and his PhD from University of Leeds. This was followed by post-doctoral research at the EMBL (Heidelberg) and IRBM (Rome) with fellowships from the Royal Society and the EU. He joined Cardiff University in 1992 and is currently a Professor of Cardiovascular Science at the Cardiff School of Biosciences. His research is focused on understanding how the immune and inflammatory responses regulate macrophage processes in atherosclerosis with the goal of attaining deeper mechanistic insight and identifying preventative/therapeutic agents. He has received continuous funding from the British Heart Foundation since 1997 and published over 150 research articles (h index 32 and i10 index 63 with over 5300 citations). He is an Editorial Board member of 16 international journals; regular organizing committee member, speaker and track/session chair at international conferences on heart disease; and involved in grant evaluation of over 20 organizations. He has supervised over 25 PhD students.

Marlena Kruger (Biography)
Professor Marlena Kruger is Professor of Nutritional Physiology and Associate Dean: Higher Degree Research for the College of Health at Massey University, New Zealand. Dr Kruger was appointed as Associate Professor in Physiology at the University of Pretoria in 1991 after spending time in Germany on a DAAD scholarship and as post-doctoral fellow at the University of Texas in Austin. Dr Kruger started work at Massey University in April 2000. She progressed to Associate Professor in 2002, Director of the Division of Human Nutrition and her current position as Chair in Nutritional Physiology in 2005 and progressed to Associate Dean in 2017. Professor Kruger has over 140 book chapters and publications in international peer reviewed journals. Her current research focus is nutrition and bone and joint health with an emphasis on lipids, dairy foods and polyphenols.

Dr. Iryna Sorokulova, Professor of Microbiology, Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Auburn University, Auburn, AL, USA. She received her MS degree in Microbiology from Taras Shevchenko Kiev State University (Ukraine) and Ph.D. and D.Sc. Degrees in Microbiology from Institute of Microbiology and Virology, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Dr. Sorokulova is the author of 93 refereed scientific publications, 4 books, and 23 patents (1- US, 1-France; 6-Ukraine, 15-Russia). Six patents are now licensed and commercialized. Catherine Stanton(Biography)
Catherine graduated from UCC with B.Sc and M.Sc. degrees in Nutrition and Food Chemistry, and Ph.D in Biochemistry from Bournemouth University, UK. She continued her research with Johnson & Johnson UK, and as postdoctoral fellow in Department of Medicine, Wake Forest University Medical Center NC, USA before joining Teagasc Moorepark in 1994. She has since developed a research programme on functional foods, with emphasis on the molecular analysis of food components that impact on human nutrition and health. Catherine is currently Principal Research Officer at Teagasc and a Principal Investigator in the APC’s Microbial Metabolites core and in the Food Health Ireland research centre. She has published over 100 papers and has been awarded a D.Sc. She was appointed Adjunct Professor, College of Medicine and Health, Department of Psychiatry, UCC in 2012 and more recently a Research Professor at UCC.

Dr. Qi earned his medical degree in China and doctor of philosophy at Tufts University in Massachyusetts. Dr. Qi’s research focuses on the genetic, nutrition, and biochemical risk factors and gene-environment interactions in relation to obesity, type-2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. He is now HCA Regents Distinguished Chair and Professor at Tulane University and adjunct professor at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He has published more than 210 scientific publications and edited a textbook. Dr. Qi serves as editor-in-chief for World Journal of Diabetes, associate editor for BMC Medical Genetics, and editorial board member for the Journal of Nutrition, Nutrition Reviews, the International Journal of Molecular Epidemiology and Genetics, and Frontiers in Nutrigenomics. Dr. Qi is a fellow of American Heart Association (FAHA), American College of Nutrition (FACN), and The Obesity Society (FOS).

Dr. Farid Menaa is an experienced and skilled inter- and multi-disciplinary professional. Professor, Consultant, Researcher, Principal Investigator, Executive Director, Advisor, Editor, Reviewer, Event Organizer and Entrepreneur, Dr. Menaa earned his degrees with high distinctions from prestigious universities and institutions. After his distinguished doctoral thesis in gerontology/geriatry and oncology from Sorbonne/Jussieu University & Nuclear Energy Authority (Paris, France, 1999-2003), Dr. Menaa was selected as a NIH post-doctoral fellow in Oncology (San Diego, California, USA; 2004-2007). Then, he pursued his career in Dermatology, and Stem Cells as a DFG post-doctoral Fellow (Wuerzburg, Germany; 2007-2009). Subsequently, Dr. Menaa was promoted to Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice-President R&D at Fluorotronics, Inc. (CA, USA; 2009-2010), a nanotechnology and fluorine chemical company. Eventually, Dr. Menaa was appointed Principal Investigator in Hematology and Genomics as a FAPESP post-doctoral Fellow (São Paulo, Brazil; 2010-2012). He was recently nominated for “Who´s is Who in the Worldâ€. During his career, Dr. Menaa followed complementary formations (e.g. Medecine, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Food Sciences and Technology, Marine Biology, Nanobiotechnology, Bio-Computation, Biostatistics, Business Development and Management, Marketing, Technological Innovation and Quality, communication/linguistics), worked and taught at various organizations (e.g. public, governmental and private). Overall, the holistic concept of Dr. Menaa led him to actively contribute to various clinical and R&D projects related to medicine, sciences and technology (e.g. medicine/nanomedicine, pharmacy/cosmetology, pharmacology/toxicology, biology, stem cells/tissue engineering/ regenerative medicine, genetics/genomics, fluorine chemistry/biochemistryproteomics, biophysics/bio-photonics, food science/nutrition, biotechnology/ nanobiotechnology, business management/development and marketing). Dr. Menaa´s main current focuses are related to preventive, personalized, translational, integrative, green and nano-based medicine, especially in the areas of oncology, regenerative medicine, dermatology, nutrition and gerontology, in order to prevent, implement early diagnosis, and develop efficient and safer therapeutic options. Dr. Menaa is also experienced with teaching, supervision, edition, leadership, coaching, consulting, event organizations, scientific & medical collaborations in several countries and languages. Dr. Stavri Chrysostomou is a Lecturer of Nutrition and Dietetics at the School of Life Sciences of the European University Cyprus. She holds a Bachelor Degree (BSc) in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics from Harokopio University of Athens (2003) and a Master degree (MSc) in the subject of Clinical Nutrition from Roehampton University of Surrey (2005). Also, Dr. Chrysostomou has a PhD degree in the field of Clinical Dietetics obtained from the Medical School of Athens in 2010. Her research activity is focused on the evaluation of the nutritional status of patients with chronic diseases and particularly in patients with Chronic Renal Failure during the non-final and final stage of the disease (non-dialysis, dialysis and transplantation). Also, Dr. Chrysostomou recently participated in European Funded Research Program for the development of Food baskets fulfilling physical and non-physical needs for the Cypriot population. Currently, she is focused on the developement of the diseased-based food baskets for the cypriot population (diabetes mellitus and celiac desease). Dr. Chrysostomou is a member of the Health Professions Council of Great Britain (HPC) and holds the title of Registered Dietitian (RD) since 2008. Furthermore, Dr Chrysostomou is registered as a Clinical Dietitian and Nutritionist in the Cypriot Registration Council for Food Scientists, Food Technologists and Dietitians and she is an active member of the Cyprus Dietetic Association. Also, Dr. Chrysostomou coordinates the postgraduate program in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics with two directions, in Clinical Dietetics and in Sport Nutrition, which was first launched at European University Cyprus in February 2015. Furthermore, Dr. Chrysostomou participates in the scientific committee for the evaluation of curricula of the Ministry of Education of Cyprus. She has published 13 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals and she has conducted many other oral and poster presentations related to Nutrition and Clinical Dietetics in international scientific conferences.

Pragna Rao(Biography)
Dr. Pragna Rao became the Dean of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, affiliated to Manipal University, India in August 2017. She is an alumnus of the same college, having completed her MD and Ph.D. in Medical Biochemistry there, after graduating from Grant Medical College and JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. Being a professor of Biochemistry, she also heads the Department of Medical Education and is in charge of a Center of Excellence in Inborn Errors of Metabolism, established by a grant awarded by the Vision Group of Science and Technology (VGST), Government of Karnataka and supported by a generous grant from Grand Challenges, Canada. In her 30 years of working experience, she has divided her time between diagnostics, teaching, and research. Dr. Pragna Rao is a recognized Ph.D. guide and has more than 100 publications in the area of maternal and child health. Her publications focus mainly on biomarkers in endometriosis, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, gestational diabetes, and endometrial carcinoma. She is also involved in establishing a newborn screening program to detect Inborn errors of metabolism in the local pediatric population. Dr. Pragna Rao serves as a certified lead assessor for the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
